Simeon Eben Baldwin

Simeon Eben Baldwin (February 5, 1840–January 30, 1927) was a governor of the U.S. state of Connecticut.

He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, attended Hopkins School and graduate from Yale College, where he was a member of Skull & Bones. He became a lawyer active in Democratic Party politics. He was justice of Connecticut state supreme court, 1897-1907, chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, 1907-10, Governor of Connecticut, 1911-15 and a candidate for United States Senator from Connecticut, 1914. He died in New Haven, Connecticut, and is interred at Grove Street Cemetery.

Governor Baldwin was also a member of the Yale Law School faculty for 47 years.

He was the son of Roger Sherman Baldwin, grandson of Simeon Baldwin, and the great-grandson of Roger Sherman.
